What are crack chaser blades?
Crack chaser blades, also known as wall chaser blades, V-Crack Chaser or V-segment blades are a diamond blade that is thicker than the standard diamond saw blade. Crack Chaser Blades are ideal for routing and widening cracks in cured concrete and asphalt to prepare them for repairs. While a normal diamond blade is only 3.2mm thick, a crack chaser blade is wider like our standard 6.3mm wide wall chasing blades. This is the most common width of chase blade. Crack Chaser diamond blades work quickly and have a superior blade life and the best cutting ability. They are made from heavy-duty steel core, with powder metal/diamond dust segments. Our wall chaser blades are usually used with handheld angle grinders and come in 4 sizes:
- 4″ / 105mm
- 4.5″ / 114mm
- 5″ / 125mm
- 7″ / 180mm
When would you use a wall chasing blade?
Diamond crack chase saw blades are routing and joint widening tools used for crack repair by decorative and restoration contractors. They are perfect for prepping asphalt and cured concrete for crack repair by making the cracks wider and therefore easier to fill.
Our wall chasing blades are best used when cracks are developing in your building materials and you want to fill in the cracks with new material. This can be difficult on its own because cracks can be uneven and thin, making it tough to repair them. These blades help by widening the cracks enough that filling them is no longer a problem. You can also use these blades when:
- Widening joints in masonry materials and surfaces
- Routing decorative joints
Why shop our range of crack chasing blades?
Crack chaser diamond blades are perfect for preparing cracks in cured concrete or asphalt for repair.
A diamond wall chaser blade follows and widens cracks more than a standard diamond blade due to the blade’s thickness. The segment width of the standard crack chasing blades is 6.3 mm. This makes it more efficient to run through the crack once with a thicker blade. They are suitable for both dry and wet use and our crack chaser blades are for use on angle grinders.
